Watch our speaker reflect on Freedom of Information laws (FOI) in Scotland for the past 20 years and examine what updates should be considered to maintain its relevance for the next 20.

Lorraine Currie, Director at Anderson Strathern and one of only five accredited specialists in data protection and freedom of information law in Scotland, will discuss how FOI and legal professional privilege sit together, the potential extension of FOI to other bodies, and the implications of the growing role of technology on FOI.

This webinar is suitable for those with a general interest or occasional use of FOI laws and those regularly engaged in FOI practices.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Refresh your knowledge of the contents of the FOI laws in Scotland while reflecting on their importance and positive impact they have made over the past 20 years
  • Consider some of the most important examples of FOI being used, and learn how you can use it in your practice
  • Learn potential refreshes that are being discussed for the laws and updates that you should keep an eye out for to provide relevant information for clients
