It has been six months since the latest changes to the Scottish Standard Clauses came into effect under the Moveable Transactions (Scotland) Act 2023. How are they bedding in? Is the new security regime working well? How is the industry coping with the ‘torpedo risk’, and how can you mitigate this risk in your firm?

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the practical implications of the changes brought into effect by Moveable Transactions (Scotland) Act 2023.
  •   Broaden your knowledge of the new security regime and the challenges this presents for conveyancers.
  •    Develop strategies to manage the “torpedo risk”.
