This course is designed for individuals who previously completed the Law Society of Scotland Data Protection Recertification Course in 2024 and whose certificates are now due for renewal.
These half day sessions assumes that participants have remained actively involved in data protection work since their last recertification.
Delegates are encouraged to bring along questions and discussion points arising from their own practice since their last recertification.
Attendance at this course is required to achieve further recertification and assessment is by two short essay answers.

Recent developments in Data Protection legislation
- updates from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
- significant case law
- changes introduced by the Data (Use and Access) Act
Artificial intelligence (AI)
Data protection risks and evolving practices in response to increasing use
