In 2020 Scotland introduced a new mechanism for the resolution of claims brought by groups of pursuers in the Court of Session, the group procedure rules. This reflects the introduction of so-called ‘collective redress’ models in many other jurisdictions across the world, some with very mature class action-style procedures, others also in their infancy including at EU level.

How does this new procedure operate, and is it working? In this session, Joanna Fulton of Burness Paull will examine how the new rules work, and discuss how it is going so far.

By attending this webinar you will:

  • Learn about new group procedure rules in Scotland
  • Contrast those rules against other jurisdictions
  • Understand how this will affect your business and your clients
