1 hour verifiable CPD | Attendance at this webinar will fulfil the annual one hour of Risk Management CPD required by all Scottish solicitors.
Watch our speakers reflect on the ethical challenges that can arise when acting for your client and discuss best practice guidance.
Solicitors are often given instructions or asked to act in an instance which challenges their personal ethics and may feel unduly pressured to “get on with it” (particularly if it is in the interests of their client to do so). This panel session explores the circumstances in which one can refuse to act and how this should be approached.
Learning Outcomes:
- Gain confidence in navigating challenging situations whilst maintaining strong professional conduct standards
- Understand your rights to refuse to act and learn strategies to manage your relationship with your client
- Develop your understanding of the wider implications (for example, where a client is in receipt of legal aid)
