Join financial specialists Shonagh Livingstone and Martha Martindale from PW & Partners as they discuss the advantages of collaboration between solicitors and financial advisors. They will provide valuable insights into how their expertise as financial advisors can help solicitors deliver a more comprehensive service, while showing how clients benefit from this partnership.

Drawing from their personal experience, Shonagh and Martha will also share their insight on working with solicitors to establish Wills and powers of attorney, implementing trusts for children with reduced capacity, and providing support following a client's death.

Learning outcomes:

  • Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning, including the use of trusts and beneficiaries
  • Divorce and separation, with a focus on pension sharing
  • Tax strategies to maximise allowances, including pension contributions for limited companies to reduce corporate tax and reclaim lost personal allowances
  • Long-term care planning

The value of a pension with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.

The levels and bases of taxation and reliefs from taxation can change any time. Tax relief is dependant on personal circumstances.

Advice relating to a Will or Power of Attorney involves the referral to a service that is separate and distinct to those offered by St. James’s Place. Wills, Powers of Attorney and trusts are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

PW & Partners Ltd is an Appointed Representative of and represents only St. James’s Place Wealth Management plc (which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority) for the purpose of advising solely on the Group’s wealth management products and services, more details of which are set out on the Group’s website www.sjp.co.uk/products. The ‘St. James’s Place Partnership’ and the titles ‘Partner’ and ‘Partner Practice’ are marketing terms used to describe St. James’s Place representatives.
