The Enlightened Thinking will focus on confidentiality vs transparency in arbitration and arbitration and psychology, and the Book Festival returns where attendees can hear from Headliner Lady Hale, who will discuss her book, Spider Woman: A Life.
Speaking about ArbFest 2024, Andrew Mackenzie, Chief Executive of the Scottish Arbitration Centre, commented: “The second Edinburgh International Arbitration Festival (ArbFest2024) will take place on 5 and 6 September. This unique event provides Scotland with an annual international arbitration event which brings practitioners and experts from Scotland and across the world to Edinburgh.
"International arbitration conferences and events provide a great opportunity to bring together the wider arbitration community to share ideas and tackle some of the key challenges facing international arbitration, and Scotland wants to be part of that discussion.
"Working with Brandon Malone, a Director of the Scottish Arbitration Centre, and Lise Bosman, Executive Director of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), I have developed themes for the Main Festival at ArbFest2024. We will hear speakers discuss matters of confidentiality and transparency in arbitration, and arbitration and psychology.
"Our Book Festival will feature Lady Hale, who will discuss her book Spider Woman: A Life. We will also add an Art Festival to our list this time, with Festivalgoers getting a rare private viewing of the National Gallery of Scotland. There will also be a showcase of Scotland’s best food and drink and plenty ceilidh dancing.”
