'Sense of community remains' — Highland solicitors gather to mark 160th anniversary

1st October 2025 Written by: Natalie Bruce

The Faculty of Solicitors of the Highlands were delighted to come together on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the Faculty’s establishment.

Hosted by the Faculty Dean, Findlay Boyd, with the support of three of his committee members, Natalie Bruce, Treasurer, Sarah Hassan, Secretary and Pauline Gair, Vice Dean, all tasked with putting on a night to enjoy, a great night was had by all.

Guests were put to the test in a fun and interactive quiz led by Team Challenge Company followed by a set of live music by the fantastic 10-piece band, Dancing With Sharks. A raffle was also held during the evening raising an incredible £1,500 for Family Mediation Highland.

Firms across the Highlands may be spread far and wide in location but what this evening reminded us of was their inclusive and collegiate network. The Highlands Faculty has seen significant growth since its early inception yet it is clear that its sense of community remains.
