Snail's Pace — Exciting update for Scottish Legal Walks 2025

9th July 2025 Written by: Graeme McWilliams

We are delighted to have six Scottish Legal Walks this autumn, including a new Paisley Legal Walk.

This event will start at Paisley Sheriff Court and go past the May Donoghue statue, which commemorates one of the parties in the groundbreaking Scottish delict case of Donoghue v Stevenson.

This famously started off in the Wellmeadow Café in Paisley, and ended up in the House of Lords.

Matthew Coffield, solicitor and owner of MJC LAW, the local event organiser, said: “Paisley is a powerhouse on so many fronts including architecture, music and justice. There is a lot of enjoyment available in Paisley’s powerful community, and we have created an opportunity for that to include our thriving legal community.

"It is important to take a moment to appreciate what has been created and what we are part of in Paisley. Five other locations in Scotland led the way by organising Legal Walks and it is time for Paisley to take its place in that order.

"The inaugural Paisley Legal Walk will take place on Tuesday 23 September 2025 and will showcase our illustrious history. MJC LAW has deep roots in Paisley’s community, and we are delighted to be involved in creating something positive for people to enjoy.”

Further details for all these events can be found at https://atjf.org.uk/about-us/our-work-across-the-uk/scotland.
