Public Guardian’s fees to increase on 1 April 2024

Fees payable to the Public Guardian are set to increase. Schedule 3 outlines the list of fees payable from 1st April 2024.

Key points to note:

• The fee to submit a power of attorney document for registration will increase to £87
• Registration fees for intervention or guardianship orders will increase to £97
• Registration fees for access to funds (Part 3) also increase

Change to the information recorded by the Office of the Public Guardian

When a power of attorney document or an order is received at the Public Guardian’s office for registration, please note that only the legal name for all parties stated in the document will be recorded.

In summary the forename, middle name and surname for each person as stated in the documentation will be recorded. Therefore only the legal name will appear on the certificate of registration/appointment.
