Collected news of new appointments and practice changes
15th September 2014

ANDERSON STRATHERN, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Haddington, announces that its Glasgow office has moved to George House, 50 George Square, Glasgow G2 1EH (tel: 0141 242 6060). The firm also announces the promotion of Ashley MacIntyre to senior associate, Lesley Fitzgerald, Sophia Li, Alison Miller and Gillian Murray to associate, and Victoria Davis, Scott Flannigan, Louise Garft, Bruce Harvie, Alasdair Johnstone, Elena McLachlan and Sophie Noble to senior solicitor.

BALFOUR+MANSON, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, announces the appointment of Angela McCracken (employment) and Jenna Monan (litigation) as solicitors in its Aberdeen office. Ms McCracken moves from the Edinburgh office where she was a trainee, and Ms Monan joins from PEACOCK JOHNSTON, Glasgow.

BELL + CRAIG LTD, Stirling and Falkirk, are pleased to announce the appointment of their associate, Lisa Ann Taylor as a director of Bell + Craig Ltd as from 1 August 2014, based at their Falkirk office.

As of 28 August 2014, Seonaid Busby and Pamela Stevenson ceased to be partners of BTO SOLICITORS, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

BURNESS PAULL, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, has appointed Robert Burns as a partner in its Glasgow office. He joins from MACROBERTS.

HARPER MACLEOD, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Thurso, announce that the entire staff of private client firm BIRD SEMPLE, Glasgow, has joined Harper Macleod at its Glasgow office from 1 September 2014.

HUGHES DOWDALL, Glasgow and Kirkintilloch, announce that David Stuart Hunter retired as a partner in the firm on 31 March 2014. He will, however, continue with the firm in the capacity of consultant.

LATTA & CO, Glasgow, intimates that with effect from 11 August 2014, the firm can now be found at 2nd Floor, 137 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow G2 3EW. Telephone, fax and email details remain the same. The firm is also delighted to announce that Barry Price has been appointed as an associate within the practice with immediate effect.

MAGUIRE SOLICITORS, Glasgow, is proud to announce that Gino Rea has been appointed as an associate of the firm as of 1 August 2014. The firm also announces that as of 1 September 2014 it has relocated to new offices at 169 Elderslie Street, Glasgow G3 7JR.

J & H MITCHELL, WS, Pitlochry and Aberfeldy are pleased to announce that Paul Keith was appointed as a partner earlier in the year and that Alan Innes has just been appointed as a partner of the firm.

MORISONS, Edinburgh and Glasgow, announces that Karen Wooton has joined the Private Client Team in Glasgow as an associate specialising in working with carers, older people and people living with learning and physical disabilities. She joins from NEWLAW SCOTLAND. Also joining the Glasgow office is Morven Douglas, as an associate in the Family Team. She moves from BALFOUR + MANSON, Edinburgh.

MTM DEFENCE LAWYERS, Falkirk, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lynn Swan as an associate solicitor.

PATIENCE & BUCHAN, Aberdeen, announce the promotion of their assistant, Ashley Simpson, to associate with effect from 1 September 2014.

RAEBURN CHRISTIE CLARK & WALLACE, Aberdeen, Banchory, Ellon, Inverurie and Stonehaven, are delighted to announce two appointments. Laura Youngson joins the firm as an associate in their Inverurie branch, from ABERDEIN CONSIDINE in Inverurie, and Jennifer Burnett joins as an associate in their Ellon branch, from STEWART & WATSON, where she was a partner based in their Turriff branch.

STEWART & WATSON, Turriff and elsewhere, announce the assumption of Fiona Louise Purdie as a partner based in their Turriff office with effect from 1 August 2014.

WINK & MACKENZIE, Elgin, announce that with effect from 20 June 2014 Lauren Campbell has been promoted to associate. She originally joined as a trainee in 2011.

WRIGHT, JOHNSTON & MACKENZIE, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness, announces that it has appointed Neil Darling as a partner in its commercial property team. Neil joins the firm from DWF and will be based in WJM’s Edinburgh office.
