ABERDEIN CONSIDINE (pictured), Aberdeen and elsewhere, has merged with A&S IRELAND, Glasgow, under the Aberdein Considine brand. A&S Ireland’s office at 18 Waterloo Street, Glasgow G2 6DB, will become Aberdein Considine’s new headquarters in the city.
BALFOUR+MANSON, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, is to merge with DUTHIE WARD, Aberdeen, from 30 June 2016. Balfour+Manson will move its Aberdeen staff into Duthie Ward’s offices at 42 Carden Place, Aberdeen AB10 1UP, from its current premises in Albyn Place. Duthie Ward’s partners, Alastair Duthie
and Richard Ward, will join Balfour+Manson as consultants. Their staff will also join Balfour+Manson.
BRODIES LLP, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, has appointed Derek Stroud as a partner in its corporate and commercial team. He joins in the summer from PINSENT MASONS. The firm has also promoted Helen Abrams (real estate) and Sarah-Jane McArthur (energy and infrastructure) to partner. Other promotions include four new managing associates: Scott Logan (land and rural business), Angela McCulloch (personal and family), Rhona McFarlane (energy and infrastructure) and Fiona Morrison (employment), and nine new associates: Ciaran Dougherty, Lynn Livesey, Caitlin McNeish and Ryan Openshaw (all litigation and regulatory), Danny George and Gillian Watson (both real estate), Kimberley Forman and Jack Moir (both banking and finance), and Paul Breen (corporate and commercial). BURNESS PAULL, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, has appointed Callum Sinclair as the new head of its commercial division, succeeding David Goodbrand, and head of technology. He joins the firm’s Glasgow office from DLA PIPER.

COULTERS, solicitors and estate agents, Edinburgh, has merged with HBJ PROPERTY, a division of HBJ GATELEY. The merged business will trade under the Coulters name, with HBJ Gateley as majority shareholder. Ross MacKay, Alastair Shepherd and Louise Williams, the partners in HBJ Property, become partners in Coulters.
DAVIDSON CHALMERS, Edinburgh and Galashiels, has appointed Jim Warnock, formerly a commercial property partner with MORISONS, as a consultant, and promoted Lizzy Enayati (commercial property) and Louise Jones (environment, waste and renewables) to associate.
