Paralegal pointers
The award season is almost upon us. No, we’re not talking about the Oscars but our Paralegal of the Year Award. This award will be presented to a paralegal whose commitment and overall attitude is an inspiration to other paralegals.
As you are all aware, paralegals perform crucial work for their respective law firms, and the Scottish Paralegal Association hopes this award will bring some well-deserved attention to the crucial role that we paralegals play. Sharon Such was a worthy winner last year, with Muhammad Bilaal Shabbir being a worthy recipient of the Highly Commended award.
Could you be the winner of the Paralegal of the Year Award 2017? Applications will be available on our website from 1 December 2016. I’m sure you are all worthy winners and we would like to hear from you. Remember you don’t need to apply for yourself – nominate someone or get someone to nominate yourself. Don’t be shy – apply!
Also we would like to announce that the Scottish Paralegal Association can now be contacted via Facebook and Twitter. These forums will contain details on upcoming CPD events, SPA events, social gatherings/networking, job advertising and of course our annual conference. And they’re a great way for you to have close contact with the SPA and other paralegals. The Association is here for you and the rest of the paralegal community. We all have a voice and these forums allow you to be heard, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with any queries or comments you have. Ensure you like us on Facebook and follow us at @ScotsParalegals – make it Your Voice.
