BOYD LEGAL, Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy, announces the appointment of Shaun Mackintosh as a director, working from its Edinburgh office. He joins from PETERKINS, Aberdeen.
CMS UK, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and elsewhere, announces that its partners have voted to combine the firm with the firms of NABARRO and OLSWANG, to create the world’s sixth largest law firm by lawyer headcount and the sixth largest in the UK by revenue. Nabarro and Olswang will join the CMS UK LLP partnership, which will trade as CMS, and the name of the UK LLP will be CMS CAMERON McKENNA NABARRO OLSWANG LLP. The merger is due to complete on 1 May 2017.
CMS also announces that its Glasgow office has completed its move to the fifth floor, and part of the fourth floor, of the redeveloped 1 West Regent Street, Glasgow G2 1RW.
DRUMMOND MILLER LLP, Edinburgh and elsewhere, has announced the promotion of Darren Deery to partner, working in clinical negligence; of Laura McDonagh to senior associate, working in litigation; and of Carolyn Jackson to associate, working in clinical negligence. Lorna Hale, a newly qualified solicitor, has also joined the clinical negligence team.
WALTER GERRARD & CO, Macduff is delighted to announce that it has acquired the practice of A & E A BRODIE, Banff with effect from 1 November 2016. Lesley M Sloan joins Walter Gerrard & Co as a consultant solicitor along with her employees. The firm will practise from 31 Duff Street, Macduff AB44 1QL and 40 High Street, Banff AB45 1AL and will continue to use the trading name of A & E A Brodie.
GRAY & GRAY LLP, Peterhead and Ellon, announces the retirement of partner (member) and family law specialist, Claire Reilly, due to ill health. Associate Andrew Ormiston has been assumed as a partner (member), based in the Litigation department in Peterhead, with effect from 31 October 2016.
