BLACKADDERS, Dundee and elsewhere, announces six promotions: Ellen Eunson (rural land and business, Aberdeen), and Stuart King (commercial property, Dundee), to partner; Claire Newton (Dundee) to director of executry services; Brian Main (property services estate agency, Dundee) to associate director; Ruth Weir (commercial property, Dundee) to associate; and John Dargie (private client, Aberdeen) to senior solicitor.
BROWN & McRAE, Fraserburgh and Turriff, announce the promotion of Sarah McAllan to associate, based in the Turriff office, with effect from 4 April 2018. Mhairi Ritchie, based in the Fraserburgh office, qualifies as a solicitor on 23 May 2018, and will be retained there.
BURNESS PAULL, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, announces that with effect from 1 August 2018, Peter Lawson, head of the Corporate department, will take over as chairman while Tamar Tammes, head of Property & Infrastructure, will become managing partner (both below). They replace current chairman Philip Rodney, who will leave the firm to pursue a number of personal projects, and managing partner Ian Wattie, who will be retained in a strategic consultancy role for the next 12 months.
CAIRNS BROWN, Alexandria and Dumbarton, announce the retiral on 1 April of Roderick Boag as a partner although he will continue for a period as a consultant. From the same date their assistant Kenneth McGowan is appointed an associate, based primarily at their Dumbarton office.
CLYDE & CO, Edinburgh and elsewhere, has announced the retirement of Peter Anderson, a partner in its Edinburgh office, from 27 April 2018.
JAMES & GEORGE COLLIE LLP, Aberdeen (incorporating KINNEAR & FALCONER, Stonehaven), announces the appointment of Mark W Allan as a private client partner in its Aberdeen office with effect from 1 April 2018. The firm also announces the resignation of Anthony J Dawson, Anne-Maryse Churchill and Gregor F Sim as partners as at 31 March 2018. All three will continue to be associated with the firm as consultants.
DRUMMOND MILLER, Edinburgh and elsewhere, announces that Laura McDonagh (litigation including judicial review) becomes a partner from 1 June 2018. In the Glasgow office, Elizabeth Rose (personal injury), and Blair Melville (commercial including immigration issues), are both promoted to associate. Lauryn McCrorie, an immigration solicitor, joins the Glasgow office from LOUGHRAN & CO, Glasgow.
HARPER MACLEOD, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Lerwick, has recruited real estate solicitor Andrew Kerr as an associate in its Inverness office. He joins from BBM SOLICITORS, where he was a director and head of property.
LEDINGHAM CHALMERS, Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh and Stirling, has announced eight promotions, all with effect from 1 April 2018. Associates Jennifer Cham and Nicky Nicolson from the Aberdeen corporate and residential property teams respectively, along with Elisa Miller (commercial property), Andrew Stott (corporate) and Sine Mackay (employment), all in Inverness, have been made senior associates. Promoted from senior solicitor to associate are Amy Dignan (litigation, Edinburgh), Emma Somerville (family, Aberdeen) and Emma McNay (defender reparation, Aberdeen).
LINDSAYS, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, intimate that, with effect from 31 March 2018, Alison Atack retired from the partnership. Lindsays wish her a successful year as President of the Law Society of Scotland, followed by a long and healthy retirement. Separately, Lindsays intimate that Dorothy Kellas has resigned from the partnership with effect from 28 April 2018 to join GILSON GRAY LLP and the North Berwick office has transferred to Gilson Gray LLP as of that date.
THE McKINSTRY COMPANY, Ayr and Girvan, has assumed Debbie Dunlop, who oversees and develops the Girvan office, as a partner and has promoted Alastair Cameron to associate. Graeme McKinstry has retired from the partnership and has taken up post as chairman of the business. All these changes take effect from 6 April 2018.
McVEY & MURRICANE, Glasgow, announce that Shirley Askew has been promoted to director of Residential Conveyancing, and Fallon Spencer has been appointed as an associate in the Commercial department.
