Independent commercial law firms DAVIDSON CHALMERS, Edinburgh, and KERGAN STEWART have announced their merger from 1 May 2019. The new DAVIDSON CHALMERS STEWART will combine 16 partners and 45 staff, all existing roles being retained in the existing offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Galashiels. Alan Stewart, founding partner of Kergan Stewart, will take up the role of chairman while Andrew Chalmers, founding partner of Davidson Chalmers, becomes managing partner (above).

The existing Gildeas conveyancing practice will merge with Fulton’s, which will continue trading as a separate entity from its offices in Mount Florida and Clarkston. Gildeas will continue to focus on personal injury work and a small number of staff will transfer to Fulton’s.
