BALFOUR+MANSON, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, announce the retirement of their partner and former chairman Fred Tyler, who has spent his entire 45-year career with the firm.

BTO SOLICITORS LLP, Glasgow and Edinburgh, has appointed Jacqueline McCluskey as a partner in the Employment Law team, based in the Edinburgh office.

BURNESS PAULL LLP, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, has appointed Andrew Forsyth (insurance litigation and shipping law), who joins from BRODIES, as a partner, and Alasdair Sutherland, advocate, as head of the Planning department. He will be assumed as a partner when he is readmitted as a solicitor. THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT LEGAL DIRECTORATE has appointed Ruaraidh Macniven as its new director with effect from 17 June 2019. He was previously head of the Advisory & Legislation Division at the OFFICE OF THE ADVOCATE GENERAL.
