Sinclair to head Property Law Committee
John Sinclair is the new convener of the Law Society of Scotland’s Property Law Committee, formerly the Conveyancing Committee.
A consultant with Burness Paull in Edinburgh, he specialises in residential development and is a longstanding member of the Property Law Committee. He has contributed to key work including responses to Scottish Government and parliamentary consultations, and ongoing collaboration with stakeholders such as Registers of Scotland.
He takes up the reins from his predecessor, Deborah Lovell, following her appointment to the Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal. He commented: “I am delighted to take up the role of Property Law Committee convener and relish the opportunity to continue working with colleagues as we consider the law and practice around conveyancing and provide information and guidance where appropriate.”
