Finders International

Founded in 1997, Finders International is the UK’s largest probate genealogy firm, with a dedicated team of Case Managers and researchers based in our Edinburgh office supporting the Scottish legal profession. We specialise in tracing missing beneficiaries and Legal Rights Claimants, and in verifying heirs to estates across the globe.

We support executry professionals, trustees, and financial institutions by locating vital people, documents, and information needed to progress or resolve cases.

To help mitigate risk in executry administration, we also offer a suite of Legal Support and International Asset Services, including Overseas Bankruptcy Searches, Missing Document Services, Asset and Liability Searches, Missing Will Searches, Medallion Signature Guarantees, and assistance with transferring and selling US shares and foreign reseals.

Where appropriate, we also support due diligence through insurance solutions, including Missing Will Indemnity Insurance, helping practitioners proceed with confidence where documentation is unavailable.
We were named UK Probate Research Firm of the Year at the 2025 Probate Industry Awards, and won the Supporting the Industry Award at the 2024 Modern Law Awards. We also proudly received UK Probate Research Firm of the Year at the 2023 British Wills and Probate Awards.

From our Edinburgh office, we regularly assist executry practitioners with complex family tree verification and heir location services, supported by colleagues in London, Cardiff, Yorkshire, Dublin, and Sydney. Our global reach is underpinned by membership of IAPPR — the International Association of Professional Probate Researchers.

We are also proud recipients of the Feefo Gold Trusted Service Award, recognising our commitment to consistently exceptional client service.
