Confidential telephone helplines for each career stage

One to one careers support

Our Careers & Outreach team are availble to assist with any careers enquiries, whether from students, trainees, NQs, solicitors or people thinking about qualifying. Get in touch at careers@lawscot.org.uk.

Trainee support

We provides a dedicated help and support service specifically aimed to meet your needs.

You can contact us to discuss any issue you might have with your traineeship on a confidential or anonymous basis. An experienced member of staff will be able to offer you guidance, advice and assistance should you need help in dealing with issues or difficulties affecting your traineeship.

We aim to assist you whether you are seeking formal intervention or simply looking to discuss the issue without formal action being taken. We have helped many trainees who have not wished to identify themselves or their employer but the Society is unable to intervene directly if not made aware of the name of the individual, firm or organisation.

The Society's Admissions Sub-Committee has the power to intervene in training contracts if, after investigation, it is thought necessary. We will guide you through any necessary processes that are required.

You can contact us with any enquiries at legaleduc@lawscot.org.uk or phone us on 0131 226 7411 and select option 2.

Professional practice helpline

The Society's dedicated professional practice team is able to support you with advice and clarification on practice rules or ethical issues, on a confidential basis.  Contact them at profprac@lawscot.org.uk  or on 0131 226 8896.
