Letter: Keeping it in the family
I will be retiring as a partner of J & J McCosh, solicitors in Dalry, with effect from 28 August this year. I joined my father in the firm in 1976, and he took over from his father at the end of the First World War. My grandfather joined the firm, which was started by his uncle in 1832. I am aware that there are a number of firms started well before that date, but wonder whether any firm is still in existence with the same family for 181 years.
