Join LGBT Health and Wellbeing for an interactive session to learn about mental health and suicide awareness. We explore how you can support and protect yourself and how you can support your colleagues, particularly those in the LGBTQ+ community who are even more at risk of experiencing poor mental health.
Attend this in-person interactive learning session, followed by an optional lunch to meet your peers and colleagues.
Who can attend?
This event is open to anyone. The primary focus is on wellbeing, but we also talk about how LGBTQ+ colleagues can be supported. You might be part of the community, an ally or just interested to learn more.
Spaces will be capped at 40 to allow for us to facilitate engagement and participation. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
What will the session cover?
Some of the key themes that will be explored are:
- How we can become more conscious of our mental health as individuals.
- How to talk to someone when you are worried about their mental health.
- Mental health challenges for the LGBTQ+ community.
- Practical things people can think about/do around being welcoming/inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community.
