Catch up on our panel session

Why is it sometimes so hard to talk about mental health at work?

We know that holding conversations are so important, but being able to hold a natural conversation about our own wellbeing or a colleague's doesn't come easy to all of us.

In this session our panel explores why it can feel like a difficult conversation, why it doesn't need to be and why open and honest conversations can be so valuable to ourselves and others. We'll also touch on themes like psychological safety, juggling work and family, managing stress and overcoming personal challenges while at work.

Meet our panel

For this event we had an all-male panel joining us, as we aim to encourage more men to participate in the conversation around mental health. This event was open to everyone, but we aimed to encourage male colleagues, in particular, to attend as we will think this will will help accelerate conversations about wellbeing in work faster. For two reasons: first, the elevated stigma attached to men's mental health and the reticence to discuss publicly. Second, the number of men in senior roles means that some will be in a position to affect change within a workplace or team.

We usually see around 80%+ female attendance at our wellbeing events – help us change that and make them more inclusive.
