Join us for an online session to meet and engage with your peers practising in England, Wales or Northern Ireland and learn more about the recent findings from the Law Society of Scotland's Profile of the Profession 2023.
The session will offer an opportunity to:
- Connect with other Scottish practising certificate holders based in England, Wales and Northern Ireland
- Ask your Law Society Council Member, James Bryden, questions or discuss issues directly affecting you and your business or organisation
- Discuss the latest developments within our profession, particularly the findings from the Law Society of Scotland’s Profile of the Profession 2023
The Profile of the Profession is the Society’s major census of those working in Scotland’s legal sector. Conducted every five years, it examines equality, diversity and inclusion issues across the profession and enables us to get a unique, in-depth view of the make-up of the profession and the experiences of our members. The results of the research directly inform our policy work and how we support members. More than 3,100 solicitors, trainees and accredited paralegals completed the survey in early 2023, making it the largest survey of its kind in Scotland.
The Society's Head of Education and Diversity, Rob Marrs, will give an overview of the findings and focus on those relating to: violence in the profession; mental health in the profession; and gender pay and the progression.
To register for this event, or if you wish to raise any questions in advance of the meeting, please email memberservices@lawscot.org.uk. You will be able to claim one hour of CPD for attending this event.
