Society pays tribute to Lindsay Montgomery who is to retire as SLAB chief executive

 Lorna Jack, Chief Executive of the Law Society of Scotland, said: “Lindsay Montgomery is a well known and respected figure within Scotland’s legal community.

“The Scottish Legal Aid Board plays a vital role within our justice system in ensuring that the legal aid budget is properly administered and Lindsay has effectively steered the organisation through major change during his 15-year tenure as chief executive.

“There have of course been times when our organisations haven’t agreed, but Lindsay has always been willing to engage with us and ensure that the door remained open for constructive discussion.

“Along with all of my colleagues at the Law Society, I would like to wish him a long and happy retirement.”
