Aberdeen Considine appoints two banking litigation partners
Legal firm Aberdein Considine is building up its finance and banking litigation team with the appointment of two senior lawyers from Ascent Performance Group, the debt collection arm of the Irwin Mitchell group.
Myra Scott, previously director of legal services at Ascent, who specialises in asset and debt recovery, joins the firm as partner and head of the Lender Services practice group. She will lead the practice group in guiding and advising clients on legislative changes and key projects, including bringing innovative solutions to lenders’ processes.
Laura Browne, formerly a senior associate at Ascent, joins Aberdein Considine as a partner. She specialises in defended actions, the resolution of complex mortgage disputes, property litigation and professional negligence claims, and has developed further expertise in resolving security defects and claims concerning fraud.
Each brings more than 20 years' experience to their role.
The Lender Services Practice Group represents the majority of the UK’s banks and financial institutions, including Royal Bank of Scotland, Nationwide Building Society, Santander UK and Lloyds Banking Group.
Managing partner Jacqueline Law commented: "We’re absolutely delighted to have Myra and Laura join us as partners of the firm. Both are widely respected as specialists in their field and along with our existing team allow us to offer clients expertise in an ever changing and complex area of the law."
