Aberdein hands over reins of firm he co-founded
Harvey Aberdein, managing partner of north-east legal firm Aberdein Considine, is stepping down as managing partner with immediate effect, the firm has announced.
Mr Aberdein, who co-founded the practice in 1981 with Iain Considine, will remain as a consultant to a business that now has more than 350 staff and turnover of £20m, in 18 offices now extending to Edinburgh and the central belt.
Leadership of the firm will be shared between longserving partners Bob Fraser, who becomes senior partner, and Jacqueline Law, the new managing partner, supported by a management committee comprising Michael Sinclair (property), Allan Gardner (financial services) and Rob Aberdein (litigation).
Mr Considine will continue to run the Banchory and Stonehaven branches of the practice.
Mr Aberdein said: “The firm needs the energy and expertise of my younger partners, in whom I have the utmost faith.
“I am certain Aberdein Considine will continue to thrive under the guidance of Bob and Jacqueline, who have both been here for decades.”
