Advocate struck off following fraud conviction
The advocate convicted earlier this year of false legal aid claims has been removed from office on the petition of the Dean of Faculty.
Three Court of Session judges granted a petition to have Mark Strachan removed from the office of advocate following his two year prison sentence for fraudulent claims totalling over £49,000 over a period of more than four years. (Click here for earlier report.)
Strachan had previously been suspended from practice pending his trial, on allegations that he had claimed travel costs for journeys he had not undertaken.
