Advocates tune up for Christmas concert
The Faculty of Advocates Choir reaches its 22nd Christmas carol concert in Edinburgh this Sunday (17 December).
As in all previous years, the concert will be in aid of the Edinburgh City Mission and its work with homeless people.
The event, held each year since the choir was established in 1996, takes place in the city’s Queen’s Hall, under the ]artistic direction of Sheriff Ross Macfarlane QC. Tickets, which are free, are available from the Queen’s Hall Box Office (t: 0131 668 2019). There will be a donation for the Edinburgh City Mission at the end of the concert.
Sheriff Macfarlane commented: "We urge people to come along on Sunday evening and experience the real spirit of Christmas – hear the carols we all love, and help raise money for a very well deserving cause.
"The Faculty Choir has performed in wonderful venues around the world, but our carol concert in Edinburgh will always be the most special."
The choir has previously performed at St Peter’s in Rome, St Mark’s Basilica in Venice, Notre Dame in Paris and Off-Broadway in New York.
