Anderson Strathern hires Adrian Smith as commercial director
Legal firm Anderson Strathern has appointed Adrian Smith to the newly-created role of commercial director.
Formerly head of corporate relations at Addleshaw Goddard, Mr Smith brings extensive business development and marketing experience in the Scottish market and internationally, including from the property sector in Dubai and across the Middle East. He is a law graduate from the University of Aberdeen.
At Anderson Strathern his remit will centre around the firm’s drive for continuing business growth, developing new revenue streams and working with the firm’s board and partners on a range of strategic initiatives.
Bruce Farquhar, chair of Anderson Strathern, commented: “The last couple of years in particular have seen us add real quality and expertise by way of lateral hires into the firm, and Adrian Smith’s appointment fits squarely with this strategic approach. It’s great to have someone of Adrian’s calibre and experience in the Scottish, UK and international market joining us. We are looking forward to working with Adrian, building on our commercial strengths following a very strong set of annual results.”
Managing partner Murray McCall added: “With a renewed commercial focus in our offering to clients and the launch of our Brexit Hub with plenty of business related advice for Scotland plc, Adrian is a welcome addition to our business development team.”
