Andrew Lothian joins DWF from Anderson Strathern
National law firm DWF has appointed Andrew Lothian, the former managing partner of Anderson Strathern, as the firm’s head of casualty and general insurance in Scotland.
Mr Lothian has more than 18 years’ experience in insurance litigation and for the last 10 years has served as Anderson Strathern’s head of insurance litigation, advising insurers, self-insured corporates and public bodies in disease, motor and catastrophic injury cases. He was also head of public sector and has particular expertise in working with public bodies, including government. He will be based in DWF’s Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, where he will work with DWF’s large national client base of insurers and public sector bodies.
Paul Berry, DWF’s national head of insurance, commented: “Andrew is an experienced litigator with an exceptional track record in sensitive and complex cases and a deep understanding of the public sector which will add significant value to our client relationships both in Scotland and nationally.”
Growth of its insurance practice is part of DWF's planned national and international growth strategies. It completed a strategic merger with niche insurance practice Watmores in March 2015.
