Angiolini to chair ICAS Discipline Board
Former Lord Advocate Dame Elish Angiolini QC has been appointed to chair the Discipline Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).
She succeeds Sheriff Principal James Taylor in the post.
Dame Elish served as Lord Advocate from 2006 to 2011, having previously been Solicitor General for Scotland – the first solicitor, and the first woman, to hold both posts. She was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 2008, and became principal of St Hugh’s College, Oxford in 2012. She is also a visiting professor of law at Strathclyde University.
On her latest role she commented: “I look forward to contributing to the success of another renowned educational establishment, and supporting the important work carried out by the members of the Discipline Panel, the Appeal Panel and the Independent Examiner.”
