Ashurst to add freelance lawyers to Glasgow support team
International law firm Ashurst is expanding its support office in Glasgow by creating a pool of freelance qualified lawyers to support its operation at times of high demand.
Set up in 2013 and staffed mainly by "legal analysts", law graduates who are then trained in particular legal processes, the office provides support for Ashurst's global operations.
The lawyers to be recruited will work on a flexible basis with the firm's legal analyst team as demand requires, providing support to the team with an element of supervisory activity and the opportunity to assist in the development of the legal analysts.
Mike Polson, managing partner of Ashurst in Glasgow, predicted that the lawyers would comprise 10-20% of the 50-strong analyst team. He commented: "The addition of freelance lawyers to our successful and highly flexible delivery model provided by the legal analysts will allow the firm to grow the scale and scope of the support it provides to the wider network in response to client needs."
