Blackadders announces Ken Scott bursary winner
A student at Dundee Law School has been awarded the Ken Scott Bursary by legal firm Blackadders.
Mumotaz Hossain, who is undertaking the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Dundee, was presented with the £250 bursary and a tablet to support her studies by Blackadders chairman Scott Williamson and head of commercial property Emma Gray.
The Ken Scott Bursary, which is administered by Blackadders, was set up after Mr Scott's death in October 2013 and is awarded on the basis of financial need. Mr Scott spent 19 years as an associate at Blackadders, working in the commercial property unit. He also spent many years as course organiser and tutor on the Company & Commercial Course in the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Dundee.
Ms Hossain said: “I’m well aware of Ken Scott’s contribution to the legal sector in Scotland and in particular his work with Dundee Law School, so receiving the bursary set up as his legacy is a tremendous privilege. I have no doubt that, combined with my studies to date, it will be of great use in helping me to complete my Diploma and take the next step towards a successful career in law.”
