Blackadders secures third merger in a year

22nd May 2015 | practice management

Tayside legal firm Blackadders has announced its third merger deal in the past year with the acquisition of Arbroath practice Marjory MacDonald Solicitors.

The merger, which takes effect from today (22 May), brings about a practice of 24 partners and over 240 staff, trading under the Blackadders banner.

Blackadders has offices in Aberdeen, Arbroath, Dundee, Edinburgh, Forfar and Perth.

Marjory MacDonald, who founded the merging practice in 2000, commented: “I am delighted about the decision to join forces. I share with Blackadders a vision of the highest quality of advice and service to clients and the merger will provide great synergies. I expect to be busier than ever whilst providing continuity of service to my clients.”

Johnston Clark, Blackadders' managing partner, added: “We are continuously working to expand and improve our service to clients and the merger with Marjory MacDonald Solicitors will assist us in this. We are confident that Marjory’s clients will also benefit from the specialist expertise and range of services that we offer.”
