Boffey continues as President as SYLA elects new committee
Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association President Emma Boffey continues in office for a second year, but with a new committee, following the SYLA's annual general meeting in Glasgow yesterday.
Also serving for the coming year are: Vice President, Laura Ferguson, Anderson Strathern; treasurer, Dominique McErlane, MacDonald Henderson; secretary, Lucy Thornton, Digby Brown; non-executive committee, Shaun Alexander, Simpson & Marwick, Jenny Anfield, Davidson Chalmers, Holly Archibald, Clydesdale Bank, Stephanie Connor, Hamilton Ross, Sean Dorian, DWF, Laura Kirk, Russell + Aitken, and Ahsan Mustafa, RVD.
The AGM followed the SYLA's annual conference, at which delegates participated in sessions on business development, marketing/branding, social media, succeeding in the “more for less world”, financial fitness and career goal-setting.
In the closing keynote address from Scott Johnson on leadership, attendees participated in demonstration sessions, involving objects as diverse as toy guns and badminton sets.
Ms Boffey, a lawyer with CMS, commented: “We had a great day with the conference yesterday and it was wonderful to see so many members turn out for the election this year.
"2014-15 was another hectic, but enjoyable, year for SYLA. It has been a privilege and honour to serve as the President of the Association for the last year and the new committee and I are looking forward to continuing our efforts over the next 12 months to educate, entertain and represent young lawyers in Scotland.”
