Brodies takes UK award
Brodies, the largest Scottish-headquartered legal firm, has won a UK award by being named UK Law Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards.
The announcement was made last night in London at the ceremony for the awards, hosted by Legal Week magazine. Judges commended Brodies for the quality of its legal services, growth in the Scottish legal market and track record for winning new business.
This is the second consecutive win at these awards for Brodies, which was named Regional Law Firm of the Year in 2013.
Winners were decided by an independent judging panel under Alasdair Douglas, chairman of the City of London Law Society. Citing Brodies, the panel said: “Strong growth in client numbers, headcount and turnover have cemented this firm's position as a leading firm in its market.” Firm chairman Christine O’Neill was presented with a trophy by Hilary Strong, managing director of Acorn Productions and one of the judges.
Brodies' managing partner Bill Drummond commented: “We're obviously delighted to be singled out in this way and would like to thank the large number of knowledgeable people – peers, experts, clients and commentators – who have experienced or taken a look at what we do."
Earlier this week Brodies was also named the Legal 500 Scottish Firm of the Year.
