Brodies tops 100 partners with six promotions
Brodies LLP, the largest Scottish-headquartered law firm, has passed the 100 partner mark with the promotion of six new partners.
Aberdeen-based Leigh Gould, Rhona McFarlane and Fiona Herrell step up to partner in their respective areas of personal and family, corporate and commercial (oil & gas) and employment, while in the Edinburgh office Lucy McCann and Chris Duff become partners in litigation and Graeme Leith is assumed as partner in real estate. Â
In addition, 23 senior solicitors have been promoted to associate and specialist oil & gas lawyer Laura Petrie, who will be based in Aberdeen, joins the firm as legal director.
The new associates are Caroline Sodersten and Chris McFarlane (both corporate & commercial, Aberdeen), Lesley McKenzie, Hamish Blair and Rachael Brown (all corporate & commercial), Edinburgh, Fiona Chute, Andy Groom, James Jerman and Andrew McWhirter (all litigation, Edinburgh), Sarah Polson and Jane Rattray (both litigation, Aberdeen), Ross Campbell (litigation, Glasgow), Chloe Fitzgerald (personal & family, Aberdeen), Caroline Purvis (personal & family, Edinburgh), Karen Barclay (real estate, Dingwall), Victoria Lane (real estate, Edinburgh), Catriona Heggie, Bruce Ewan and Giulia De Marco (all real estate), Glasgow, Heather Clinton and Kirsty Graham (both real estate, Edinburgh), and Graeme Imrie and Kirsten MacRae (both real estate, Aberdeen).
The firm has also retained 11 of its trainees as newly qualified lawyers and recruitment is on-going to appoint a further 22 to join the firm in the autumn.
These latest appointments come as Brodies records a 6% increase in people, up from 645 the previous year to 688, including 102 partners.
