Burness Paul achieves STEP platinum status

7th December 2017 | executries , practice management , trusts-asset management

Legal firm Burness Paull has announced that its private capital team has been awarded Platinum Employer Partner status, the highest level of accreditation of the STEP Employer Partnership Programme.

With more than 100 branches and 20,000 members, STEP is the worldwide professional association for practitioners who specialise in family, inheritance and succession planning.  Its Employer Partnership Programme recognises good practice in the support and development of staff by employers of STEP members.

The team at Burness Paull currently has four full members of STEP, with two more close to qualifying.

Colin McKenzie, partner and head of private capital at Burness Paull commented: “We’ve invested heavily in our team to ensure our clients continue to receive the best service and advice. Working alongside our corporate finance team we are also increasingly advising business owners on legacy and succession planning. The accreditation from STEP is an endorsement of the strength of our people and our strategy."

Gemma Copestick, senior manager, Employer Partnerships at STEP said: "Burness Paull submitted a very thorough and comprehensive application, which evidenced an impressive range of learning and professional development resources and opportunities, underpinned by strong leadership. We are delighted to welcome the firm to the STEP Employer Partnership Programme as a Platinum Employer Partner and extend our congratulations."
