Burness Paul becomes Scottish Lex Mundi member

27th November 2017 | practice management

Legal firm Burness Paull LLP has been admitted as the sole Scottish member of the Lex Mundi network.

Lex Mundi’s board of directors voted unanimously to admit Burness Paull as its exclusive member firm for Scotland after the previous Scottish member, Maclay Murray & Spens, merged with global practice Dentons.

A network of independent law firms in more than 100 countries, Lex Mundi member firms offer clients preferred access to more than 21,000 lawyers worldwide. It operates by selecting one nidependent firm for each jurisdiction, and each member firm is chosen on the basis of its leadership in – and continued commitment to – its local market. Firms must maintain their level of excellence to retain membership within Lex Mundi.

Philip Rodney, chairman of Burness Paull, stated: “Serving our clients globally is a key part of our strategy. Lex Mundi membership will enhance our ability to do so, wherever in the world our clients’ business takes them. We look forward to working with Lex Mundi’s network of leading member firms globally.”

Carl Anduri, President of Lex Mundi, commented: "We are pleased to welcome this outstanding firm to our network. With the addition of Burness Paull, Lex Mundi strengthens its presence in Europe and underscores its commitment to provide its member firms and their clients access to the most experienced and most highly regarded counsel around the world."
