Burness Paull makes renewables director hire

21st January 2019 | careers

Legal firm Burness Paull LLP has hired an experienced renewables lawyer as a director in its Property team.

With over 20 years’ experience advising developers, landowners, funders and investors in the clean energy market, Nicky Pascoe is acknowledged as an expert in her field. She joins from Shepherd & Wedderburn where she was an associate.

Ms Pascoe has worked on onshore wind, hydro, solar and energy from waste projects, and has a particular specialism in dealing with complex and bespoke property matters, having been involved in some of the first commercial onshore windfarms in Scotland.

She commented: "I have always been enthusiastic about the renewables sector, supporting clients whose innovation, commitment and passion have made Scotland a world leader in renewable energy, along with delivering significant contributions to Scotland’s economy and particularly its rural communities."

Tamar Tammes, managing partner at Burness Paull, said that bolstering the firm’s market-leading renewables practice with another specialist was strategically important as the sector moved into a new phase of project life-extension and repowering.

"The industry continues to evolve and it’s important that our offering does the same", she observed. "Nicky’s arrival will help to ensure that both our Scottish and international clients continue to receive the best possible support as they seek to capitalise on the opportunities emerging from the introduction of new legislation and new technology."
