Call for views on temporary accommodation standards for the homeless
Ensuring consistent quality standards in temporary accommodation for the homeless is the subject of a new Scottish Government consultation.
Ministers are seeking views on proposals to implement recommendations of the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Action Group (HARSAG), which reported last year. These included extending the seven-day restriction on time spent in unsuitable temporary accommodation to all people experiencing homelessness; and introducing a legally enforceable temporary accommodation standards framework.
The paper goes on to consider new advisory standards for temporary accommodation and how these should be enforced and monitored.
