Cancer Research Racquet 2018 event runs this month
A champagne garden party on the evening of Friday 25 May will the 2018 fundraiser for the Scottish committee of Cancer Research Racquet, the international group of US, UK and EU legal professionals who raise money for cancer research.
This will be the fourth fundraiser event that the group has held in Scotland. This year, the event will once again raise funds jointly for Cancer Research Racquet and local charity, Marie Curie.
From 2005 to 2018, the Cancer Research Racquet group has grown from 50 to nearly 12,000 legal professionals and the number of events has increased from one in Las Vegas to nearly 20 across the US, UK and EU, with new events held in new jurisdictions, including Scotland, South Africa and Croatia, in recent years.
Emma Johnston of Pinsent Masons and Emma Boffey of CMS, two of the Scottish local coordinators for Cancer Research Racquet, commented: “We are delighted to return to the beautiful surrounds of the Eglinton and Glencairn Gardens for this year’s champagne garden party, which promises to be, once again, a spectacular evening for a great cause. Last year's event sold out, raising over £3,000 for the charities, and we are hoping to repeat that success again this year. We are encouraging all involved in the legal profession in Scotland to help support this event and come out for what promises to be a great night, raising money for two great causes.”
The Edinburgh event will feature live music, entertainment, food, a raffle, and of course, lots of champagne. Tickets are priced at £25 per person and can be purchased via this link.
