Clan Childlaw marks anniversary with student competition
Scotland's child-focused law centre is staging a student essay competition to mark its 10th anniversary this year.
Law students around Scotland are invited to write up to 1,500 words on the subject "What is the biggest children’s rights issue in Scotland and how can the law be used to resolve it?"
All students enrolled in an LLB, Diploma in Professional Legal Practice or LLM at a Scottish university (for either the 2017-18 or 2018-19 academic year) are eligible to enter. The deadline for submissions is 5pm on 1 October 2018.
The winning entry will be published by Clan Childlaw and the winner offered a week's work experience placement at Clan Childlaw.
Founded in 2008, Clan Childlaw is a legal and advocacy service for children and young people which delivers free, confidential legal advice and representation from bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Its lawyers are experienced child lawyers who only represent young people up to the age of 18, or 21 if they have been in care.
