Court reform focus for SYLA lecture

23rd February 2015

Courts and tribunal reform is the theme for this year's Scottish Young Lawyers' Association Spring Lecture, to be held next week.

Hosted by, and held jointly with, the SSC Society, the guest speaker will be Steve Humphreys, executive director of the Judicial Office for Scotland, with the title "Courts, Tribunal Reform and Judicial Structures". His talk will include an overview of the Judicial Office for Scotland.

The event takes place on Tuesday 3 March 2015, from 6pm in the SSC Library, Parliament House, Edinburgh.

Focusing on the welfare of young lawyers, SYLA has also organised a series of events across Scotland on financial fitness and emotional wellbeing, with presentations from Trish McLellan of LawCare and David Carroll of Wesleyan. Dates have been arranged for Aberdeen (26 February), Edinburgh (14 April) and Dundee (12 May), all from 6pm. A further Glasgow date will be announced shortly.

To register for forthcoming SYLA events, go to www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/scottish-young-lawyers-association-1867524801
