Digby Brown charity dinner dance proceeds reach £80,000
A new record of £80,000 has been raised for Spinal Injuries Scotland (SIS) by the annual Digby Brown Winter Dinner Dance.
This year's event was held at Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel last Friday, 7 November, and featured comedian Kevin Bridges, Capital Radio host Des Clarke, and Alastair Campbell, former director of communications to Tony Blair.
This year's event was the 10th organised by Digby Brown, whose relationship with SIS goes back two decades, and the total raised over that period now exceeds £500,000.
SIS is the national voluntary organisation concerned with new and long-term spinal cord injured people, their relatives and friends, along with those involved in the management, care and rehabilitation of the injury.
Chris Stewart, Digby Brown partner and head of the firm’s serious injury department, said: “The Winter Dinner Dance for Spinal Injuries Scotland is always a fantastic event and this year took us to new heights. We were delighted to welcome a record number of guests and some really world-class entertainment. All of that had an important purpose though – to raise vital funds to support a great charity in its work across Scotland."
He added: “Such a successful event could only be achieved through the generosity of many people, and I would like to place on record our thanks to those who attended and gave so much on the night, and the individuals and organisation that supported the evening in many different ways.”
