Drummond secures seventh term at Brodies' helm
Brodies' managing partner Bill Drummond has been unanimously re-elected for his seventh consecutive three-year term.
Mr Drummond, now one of the UK’s longest-serving managing partners, was first elected in 1998 and has been with the firm for 35 years.
Over the past 18 years, Brodies has grown from 175 lawyers and staff all based in Edinburgh, to become Scotland's largest legal firm, with 93 partners and a total of 639 staff, working across four offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Brussels. In that time turnover has risen from £8m to almost £58m, and profits from £2.5m to £27.1m.
He has also served 10 years as a board member, and latterly chair, of the Scottish Council for Development & Industry.
Christine O’Neill, the firm's chairman, said: “Bill's longevity as managing partner is a reflection of his considerable achievements over the past 17 years, and the faith that the partnership places in him to continue to build on Brodies’ success and to maintain an unremitting focus on delivering the high quality and relevant legal services that our clients expect."
