Dundee partner promotion at Thorntons

11th January 2018 | careers

Solicitors' firm Thorntons has appointed a new partner in its Dundee headquaters.

Lorna Goodfellow, from Dunfermline, has been an associate within Thorntons’ Private Client department for two years and has this month been promoted to partner.

Specialising in private client work since 2003 and with a keen interest in trusts, Ms Goodfellow advises on wills, inheritance tax, powers of attorney and succession planning as well as administration of estates. She also speaks to local community groups on care home planning and the benefits of having a will in place.

A recent recipient of the STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners) Diploma, she is a module organiser and tutor on the Advanced Private Client course on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Dundee.

Craig Nicol, joint managing partner at Thorntons, commented: "We see it as vital to promote from within and to continue to develop our own talent. It provides the motivation for our colleagues to work hard for clients and the firm.

"We are delighted to start 2018 by making Lorna a new partner in our Dundee office and we will continue to invest in training and internal development of our people going forward."
