DWF to relocate in Glasgow as German office announced

21st December 2015 | practice management

National law firm DWF has announced plans to move its Glasgow office in 2016 to 110 Queen Street, the building also chosen by Brodies for its recent Glasgow relocation.

DWF will take the fourth floor of the open plan development when it relocates from Dalmore House on St Vincent Street.

Paul Pignatelli, DWF’s executive partner for the Glasgow office, commented: “It enables us to move from working across three floors to one open-plan space that will enhance the working environment for our people – encouraging further interaction, collaboration and flexibility.

“The new office not only offers a great space and location for our people and clients, but it reinforces our approach to agile working, teamwork and client service excellence. 110 Queen Street is a significant milestone for DWF and the team is excited by the modern and flexible environment Queen Street delivers and we are really looking forward to next year’s move.”

The news comes just days after DWF announced its third and fourth international locations with the acquisition from 1 January 2016 of German commercial practice BridgehouseLaw, which has offices in Cologne and Munich. The firm's expansion overseas began earlier this year when it opened in Dubai in March, followed this month by a Brussels office. The merged firm will have a turnover of £194m and will employ about 2,360 people across 16 locations.

DWF’s managing partner and CEO, Andrew Leaitherland, said: “BridgehouseLaw is a strong strategic fit with DWF, giving us capability in key geographic regions where we’ve identified growth opportunities with existing clients in our chosen industry sectors, particularly tech and energy. DWF has a large number of German clients, as well as clients who do business in Germany, the EU and the US, and this strategic acquisition provides a platform to access many of the sectors and markets which are important to our clients’ business objectives and which support DWF’s own strategic plans.”

DWF has now been recognised with a Commitment Marque of Excellence, the national standard that recognises high levels of organisational performance. The Commitment Marque was awarded by the North of England Excellence organisation as part of the Europe-wide EFQM accreditation programme.
