DX ending use of LP addresses from new year
Legal Post (LP) addresses will no longer be used from 1 January 2018 by DX, which took over Legal Post in 2016.
As from the new year, DX addressing will be used as the preferred way of sending mail within the document exchange in Scotland.
DX is asking legal firms to ensure their systems are updated so that documents are only addressed to DX numbers, and not LP addresses (similarly with return addresses). They should also remove any references to LP addressing from websites, stationery such as letterheads and business cards, and email auto-signatures.
LP addresses will be automatically removed from the Law Society of Scotland website, but firms should update their DX details.
DX says that moving to a single addressing system will enable it to sort documents more rapidly using its automated sorting equipment, and reduce the number of errors in the network due to conflicts between DX/LP numbers in addressing.
